Designers Today featured the Rocky Mountain region in its May/June issue, and we asked designers in that region where they go when they want to source product. Here’s what they said:
Christopher Shields, Christopher Shields & Company, Denver:
“I consider showrooms my library… There is something with enduring quality, style and construction for everyone! I feel very lucky to have a wonderful and growing (!) design center here in Denver. I also love a good design boutique. And let’s not forget our vintage and antique shops and local art galleries. Here in Denver, you have to check out the Denver Design District, Decorative Materials for the best tile, Denver’s Art District on Santa Fe, Eron Johnson Antiques and Denver’s Antiques Row… and I LOVE The Perfect Petal in our West Highland neighborhood.”

Jess Knauf, Jess Knauf Design, Denver:
“Design Wright Studios and Artisan Rug Gallery in RiNo (River North Art District) are wonderful resources for custom upholstery and furnishings, and incredible handmade rugs.”
Molly Bevan, Layers + Lines Home Design, Denver:
“We love supporting the Denver Design Center and source many of our selections there. Lawson Fenning out of Los Angeles, Stowed out of Westport and 57st Design out of Chicago are a few of our favorite furniture designers we look to for unique pieces.”

Annie and Jordan Obermann, Forge & Bow, Fort Collins, Colo.:
“Local places in Fort Collins include: HW Home (globally sourced curated furniture collection), A & J Antique Mall (good balance of antiques and home goods spanning multiple decades), Front Range Antique Mall (a true antiques place, not a flea market), and Vintage Marketplace (a great shop for vintage décor, amazing collection of retro 1940-70’s dishes).”

Joe McGuire, Joe McGuire Design, Aspen, Colo.:
“There are some very nice showrooms in Denver that we use regularly for furnishings. We also travel quite a bit for sourcing, including LA, New York, Miami, Milan, etc.”
