DWELL WITH DIGNITY CELEBRATES 10 YEARS OF DO-GOODING

During the upcoming Dallas Market, Currey & Company will host an anniversary party for Dwell with Dignity in their showroom in the Interior Home + Design Center. For 10 years the Dallas-based nonprofit has been transforming lives through design. There will be food, libations (of course!) and giveaways.

Dwell with Dignity was started in 2009. The organization works with families through social services organizations who have managed to obtain permanent housing but are struggling to attain self sufficiency. It partners with the interior design industry -- interior designers, manufacturers, and other trade members -- and through donations, sponsorships, fundraising events like Thrift Studio, and boots-on-the-ground volunteering, turns new residences into true homes. Thus far, 130 projects have been completed.

Bethanne Matari, Currey & Co.’s PR Maven, first met Kim Turner, Advancement Director and Lisa Robison, DWD Founder, at the Bloggers Conference (now the Design Influencer Conference) in 2011, and got Currey on board to help immediately. “I like that they actually create beautiful/functional living spaces for families who are in need,” says Bethanne. “I have helped with several installs and I am impressed with how hard all the volunteers work. The end result is always such a treat to observe and to see the delight in the eyes of the parents and children.”
