From May 13–17, franchise owners, design professionals and home furnishings company representatives from across the U.S. and Canada will come together at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel for Decorating Den Interiors’ annual conference and supplier market. This will also serve as a celebration for Decorating Den’s 50th anniversary.

"We are excited to be in Las Vegas for this especially significant celebration and market," says James S. Bugg Jr., president and chief executive officer, Decorating Den Interiors. "Few companies get to celebrate 50 years in business, and we are very proud of that. While many home furnishings companies have closed in recent years, we not only survived, we are thriving.”

The conference will honor Steve Bursten, who founded the company in 1969 with his late wife Valerie and served as its first president for nearly 30 years. He co-founded the Window Coverings University and continues to be involved in the window fashions industry. Also being honored is Patti Coons, former senior vice president of corporate communications. She began the company’s annual Dream Room Awards program that enables the company’s design professionals to have room makeovers judged by international journalists.

Keynote speaker for the conference is Jaclyn Smith, who has worked with Trend /Fabricut on an exclusive fabric and trimming program since 2007. She pioneered the concept of celebrities developing their own brands rather than merely endorsing others.

Interior design excellence will also be recognized, with awards announced for first, second and third place room makeovers in each of 12 categories. Judging was done by journalists from across the U.S. and Canada.  Judges subsequently judged the first place winners to select the best of the best and name the company’s Designer of the Year. Franchise Owner of the Year, Region of the Year, Suppliers of the Year, top sales awards and other recognitions will also be celebrated.
