Universal’s newly renovated 2000 sq. ft. Designer Lounge debuts with a Beauty Bar sponsored by Crypton. Twenty-minute hair and makeup refresher sessions are available by appointment here. Open 9-6, April 5 - 9, designers are always invited to work and meet in the Lounge or grab something nutritious and delicious to eat at the cafeteria across the way. The Steelyard Designers Lounge has new digs at 200 Steele. Located on the light-filled second-floor mezzanine, in close proximity to many incredible designer-friendly manufacturers, the Lounge is presented by Century, Highland House, Kindel and Scarborough House, brands who are also represented on Steelyard’s vetted trade sourcing site.
In addition to the Lounge, Steelyard has also arranged a trolley service to deliver to and fro select most destinations, parties and panels. Trolley riders are also privy to special gifts, giveaways, and golden tickets to closed VIP events and a roster of guest industry personalities will be offering advice and insight during rides with a bit of karaoke on the side. Abbyson has much to celebrate this High Point. The company turns 30 and has a new posh place to celebrate. In addition, IVY, the businesss management software for designers, is hosting IVY Academy at Abbyson. This 8-hour day of education is set for Friday April 5th and will feature roundtable discussions, hands-on Ivy training, and a panel featuring Lori Paranjape, Kristen Forgione, and Caitlin Murray discussing “Creating a Profitable Design Business.” Reisa Elden, Head of Partnerships & Events, will be stationed at Abbyson throughout the weekend to meet designers and provide product demonstrations.
