A.R.T. Furniture, a division of Markor, announces its product collection created in collaboration with award-winning interior designer and star of Netflix’s Queer Eye, Bobby Berk. Berk collaborated with A.R.T. to craft a line that offers elegant home essentials that fit seamlessly with a variety of interior design styles. The Bobby Berk for A.R.T. Furniture collection includes furniture for all areas of the home and marks the first time A.R.T. has collaborated with an outside designer. Kerry Glasser, founder of Concept Marketing Group, brokered the license. A.R.T. CEO Jeff Cook is thrilled with the partnership and says, “ I believe it is just the start of a long and fruitful partnership with Bobby and his team.”
The Bobby Berk for A.R.T. Furniture collection features tasteful details paired with an appreciation for the minimalist urban luxury Bobby is known for, while offering a product line that is inviting, warm, and organic. Encompassing an extensive selection of new pieces for the bedroom, dining room, living room, and outdoor spaces, signature pieces include walnut dressers and sideboards with subtle geometric patterns, lush, streamlined beds, and sleek, comfortable upholstered sofas in a variety of fabrics and finishes. Some A.R.T. products will be incorporated into upcoming seasons of Queer Eye.
While Bobby Berk is now best known as the design guru on Netflix’s Queer Eye, his journey to celeb status and over a million IG followers didn’t happen overnight. Originally hailing from Texas, Bobby dreamed of the big city and moved to New York in 2003 with only a few dollars to his name and no job in sight. He started working in the industry in retail — Bed Bath & Beyond, Restoration Hardware, then Creative Director at Portico Home + Spa. Then he felt ready to strike out on his own and develop the Bobby Berk brand. (To hear Bobby’s journey in his own words, listen to this short 34-minute podcast on Design Between the Lines).
The Bobby Berk for A.R.T. Furniture collection will be available to the trade in April and to consumers and via select e-commerce retailers in the fall of 2019. The collection will debut this spring at High Point Furniture Market in parent company Markor’s new building, conceptualized by Markor founder Richard Feng. The new space allows A.R.T. Furniture to more extensively show its product range.
Established in 2003, A.R.T. Furniture’s unique manufacturing capabilities make it possible to produce the Bobby Berk for A.R.T. Furniture collection with meticulous detail while still offering the collection at a fair price point. The company’s extensive experience in manufacturing, wholesale presence in North America, vast retail network in Asia and ongoing commitment to quality construction made them the perfect partner for Berk’s latest furniture collection.
“Markor’s DNA is innovation, both in design and technology to bring art into people’s homes,” says Mark Feng, President of Markor International Business Division. “Bobby shares this common mission with us, which is to change people’s lives through design. A.R.T.’s best in class capabilities in design and production along with Bobby’s creativity and social influence will enable us to deliver great value to our customers and partners.”
“A.R.T. has a long history of producing incredibly beautiful furniture collections,” says Bobby Berk. “From the moment we started working together, I was blown away by their manufacturing capabilities and their commitment to bringing my design ideas to life.”
Among the collection’s signature pieces are walnut dressers and sideboards with subtle yet eye-catching geometric patterns, lush, streamlined beds, and sleek, comfortable upholstered sofas in a variety of fabrics and finishes. The collection features tasteful details paired with an appreciation for the minimalist urban luxury Bobby is known for, while offering a product line that is inviting, warm, and organic. The Bobby Berk for A.R.T. Furniture collection puts a new spin on many classic pieces and epitomizes Berk’s singular approach to interior design.
“Bobby is one of the most talented designers working today,” says Jeff Cook, CEO for A.R.T. Furniture. “We are thrilled to work with him on this latest collection and believe it is just the start of a long and fruitful partnership with Bobby and his team.”
