If you’ve picked up the January issue of Exterior Design, Progressive Business Media’s high end outdoor-focused design book, and read Editor in Chief Waynette Goodson’s letter, then you’ve learned that Exterior Design is going to be incorporated into the DT fold. And it makes perfectly good sense, as Waynette (above, 2nd from left, and joined by Kerrie Kelly, Shayla Copas, and Shay Geyer) explains:

Perhaps the No. 1 trend in exterior design is that seamless blur from the inside to the outdoor area. Thus, we decided we should do the same within our own publications: Offer whole-home design in one convenient place, Designers Today.

Another news item to note: Waynette Goodson is leaving her posts at Progressive Business Media and Senior Editor Jennifer Bringle (above) is stepping up as Editor in Chief of Casual Living. You can read all about it at Home Accents Today. Before addressing the future, I want to bid the glorious Ms. Goodson, the consummate editor, moderator and fashionista, a fond see-you-later. Over this past year, she has made me laugh so much and when I first arrived at PBM she greeted me with warmth and a big fat journal for all those important things I’d be writing down.

Now, looking ahead. I will be working regularly with Jennifer and Assitant Editor Alex Millstein who know the exterior landscape with great depth. to incorporate valuable information, gorgeous products, and relevant features into DT. While we’ve included outdoor-related content previously, its attention in our pages will be even more intentional.

Jennifer and I will be jumpstarting our collaboration in just a few days at the Las Vegas Market as we co-moderate a panel of illustrious designers (above) on the synergy between indoor and outdoor spaces. Waynette and I led this panel in the summer with a different roster of designers and it was excellent. It is on Tuesday the 29th at 11:30 at the OW Lee Showroom (C-1301) and lunch follows. The seminar is .1 CEU credit.

Hope to see you there.
