Angela Harris, Ryan Saghian, Shay Geyer and Charles Pavarini are some of the latest interior designers to announce new product collaborations. From furniture to permanent botanicals wood and wall coverings too, here are four recent designer collaborations worth noting.
ANGELA HARRIS + PHILLIPS COLLECTION
Award-winning interior design firm TRIO Environments, led by Angela Harris has collaborated with Phillips Collection to create Angela Harris for Phillips Collection, a furniture grouping to debut at Las Vegas Market in July. Inspired by her love of travel and art, Harris created the collection with a focus on the natural beauty of wood and metal. Imbued with a sense of quiet and understated luxury, the collection pairs Harris’ penchant for organic modernism with a rich, artisan-made, worldly elegance.
The full collection consists of a wide array of furniture and seating, including club chairs, sofas and dining chairs, dining tables, bar tables, coffee and side tables. Pure, geometric forms rendered in rich suar wood paired with metal inlays inform much of the collection which is available in two color schemes. The warm features hand-rubbed stains over natural wood with brass accents, which the cooler palette employs grey wood with silver details.
While Phillips has always worked with the world’s best designers on product development, this is the company’s first furniture colab and Phillips’ first major upholstery intro in a decade. Jason Phillips, VP, Phillips Collection says, “This is a big moment for us as we navigate our way back into an important category, and the collaboration with Angela offers our clients something entirely new and unexpected. ”
Before Harris and the Phillips inked a deal, Harris would tap Phillips for custom pieces for her own interior projects. Jason Phillips says, “We liked the designs so much that we decided to partner on a collection.” Harris, Principal and Creative Director of TRIO Environments, was also impressed. “I was always blown away by the quality and beauty of the final pieces so when the opportunity came around to do an official collection, we jumped at the chance.” The minimalist pieces in the line are impeccably crafted by hand in Indonesia, all under the close supervision of Phillips Collection and Angela Harris.
RYAN SAGHIAN + BIJOU COVERINGS
Millennial and accomplished interior designer, Ryan Saghian, has launched a new wallcovering collection that premiered at this year’s ICFF in New York. The collection was created in collaboration with Bijou Coverings. “It’s always been one of my dreams to bring my color palette to life and see it splashed all over a wall,” said, Saghian owner and founder of Ryan Saghian Interiors. “With Bijou Coverings, I was also able to push the limits with textiles by using silks, cork and other natural materials to create a sensational product." Jason Kaen, Owner of Bijou Covering says, “The neutral tones of these organic textures continue to be staples within the industry, but we wanted to go out of the box with this collection. The bold prints were named after the streets of the historic Windsor Square neighborhood of Hancock Park. (The pattern Lucerne is used at this top of the blog.)
SHAY GEYER + THE BOTANICAL MIX
At the Dallas Market later this month, interior designer and product designer Shay Geyer of the award-winning IBB Design will launch her permanent botanical collection for The Botanical Mix. Geyer saw a need for the collection from her own clients requesting unique arrangements that looked lifelike, the kind you have to touch to know if they're real or not. The Shay Geyer Collection for The Botanical Mix includes orchids, succulents, hydrangeas, peonies and more styled in unique vessels and accented with geodes and acrylic rods.
