High Point Market has been called the furniture industry’s Fashion Week…and for good reason. Nowhere else do we get to ogle eachother with respect and admiration to the degree that is possible at High Point. We surely dress up for other shows too, but the season’s dramatic shift in temperatures heralds a noticeable uptick in excitement around outfit preparation.

The planning around this jacket started months ago when I was in NYC visiting artist and textile designer Nancy Fire in her studio. I saw the Current fabric from Nancy’s Studio NYC Design collection lying in a basket and said, “That’s gorgeous. Now, I would wear a suit made out of that!” She took my comment seriously and asked me to send her my measurements. Her fabricator stitched it up, and the jacket arrived yesterday. I think i am going to wear it with a pair of high-waisted vintage denim slacks, a cream blouse and…an umbrella.
Rain or shine, here’s what we are packing! Click the boxes and hover to find out who’s wearing what.

Also, we did a sweet piece called Soles of Market in April. Different season, but it’s still got sole!
