Bunakara Continues U.S. Outreach

LISBON, Portugal – As it continues to extend its U.S. sales outreach, Bunakara, a line of upscale furniture, home accents and textiles, has named Tamara Lockman to the newly created position of sales manager.

Lockman will manage the company’s U.S. sales team and coordinate all aspects of exhibiting at a variety of markets, including the High Point Market, the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market and the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market.

With more than 15 years of experience in the gift and home furnishings industry, Lockman was previously president of her wholesale company, T. Lockman LLC. She also has held positions in showroom management and sales for Design Legacy by Kelly O’Neal, Libeco-Lagae and Lynn Courtade Inc.
“Adding Tamara to our team supports our focus on growing our distribution and the Bunakara brand in the U.S. market,” said Dixon Bartlett, U.S. national sales and marketing director for Bunakara. “As we continue to build our support team at our Bunakara headquarters, Tamara’s background and experience in the industry will be a tremendous benefit for us.”

“I was initially drawn to Bunakara because of its international origin and the intrinsically unique design elements of the products,” said Lockman. “I’m very excited about introducing buyers to something new, something unexpected, something almost inexplicable.”

Lockman holds a master of arts in museum studies from the Fashion Institute of Technology where she studied in the History of Costumes and Textiles division.
